Transfer Student Experience
There are many resources across UGA's campus to help make your transition as smooth as possible. The list below includes some of the resources available to you.
Counseling and Psychiatric Sercices (CAPS): Short-term individual, group, and couples therapy; psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring; psychological assessment; referrals to campus and community resources. Center for Leadership & Service: Includes leadership programs, including the Academy for Leadership Excellence, the Arch Society, LeaderShape, (and Leadership UGA); and service-oriented activities, including ServeUGA, Serve Athens, Day of Service, and IMPACT: (UGA Service Breaks). Check out About the CLS or visit them in the Tate Student Center, room 201 for more information.
Center for Student Activities and Involvement : Designed to enhance the experiences of students, student groups, and advisors by providing the necessary support to enrich organizations and empower students to develop and apply leadership skills, design and implement programs, and contribute to the University and global community. For more information, visit the Center in the Tate Student Center, room 102.
Dean of Students: Includes Student Support Services, Tate Student Center, Tate Business Services, and the Veteran's Student Resouce Center. Check out these resources or visit them in the Tate Student Center in room 325.
Disability Resource Center (DRC): Provides academic and support services, including accessibility, classs accommodations, notetakers, and service animal registration. Registration for DRC Services is available, and you can visit the DRC in Clark Howell Hall, room 114.
Greek Life: Greek Life includes the Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and Panhellenic Council. Learn more about the UGA Chapters here or visit them in the Tate Student Center, room 153.
The Health Center: Includes Medical clinics, Dental Clinic, Vision Clinic, Counseling, Alcohol programming, and Wellness care. You can make an appointment or visit them in the University Health Center.
Multicultural Services and Programs: Leadership opportunities, student organizations, social justice education programs, and student advocacy. Visit the Intersection and visit MSP in Memorial Hall, room 404 for more information.
The Graduate School: Information for future, incoming, and current students; admissions procedures for graduate education; poliices and procedures for graduate students; information about assistantships.
Athens Transit: All UGA students can ride Athens Transit for free with their Student ID.
Student Care and Outreach: Provides indivudualized assistance to students experiencing hardship circumstances. Student Care and Outreach promotes the students' development of self-advocacy.
The Career Center: Meet with a career consultant, get resumes/cover letters critiqued, participate in Mock Interviews, attend Career Fairs, network with employers, and attend workshops and seminars to help with your career development. Visit UGA Career Guides for more information.
Registrar: The "academic hub" of the institution which provides transcripts, letters of certification, graduation clearance, diploma printing, residency, course offering sand scheduling, grading, rea-addmittance to UGA, tuition waivers, FERPA, University governance, Veteran's Education Benefits, and general academic information. Student Conduct: Educates students about their rights and responsibilities, provides a fair process, creates opportunities for learning and development and offers outreach to the campus community. Visit the UGA Code of Conduct for details.
Libraries: University of Georgia Library System includes the Main Library, the Curriculum Materials Library, the Map and Government Information Library, the Music Library, the Veterinary Medicine Reading Room, the Science Library, the MLC extension, the Special Collections Library, and more.
Athena: UGA's portal system where you can update personal information, view holds, register for classes, access student account, view academic records, apply for financial aid, review fiancial aid status, accept or decline awared offers and more.
